NON MEMBERS REGISTRATION INFORMATION

This year for the first time, members can opt to sponsor another delegate upon application to FICPI. Those who are not members who wish to attend the Congress should complete the below Sponsored Registrant application form and submit it for approval to FICPI (melbourne-congress@ficpi.org). Upon approval you may register for the Congress.

Sponsored Registrant Application form Click Here

An eligible non-member is an IP attorney in private practice whom it is considered could be a member of FICPI in his or her home country, whether through the national association or section of FICPI in that country, or as an individual member in those countries where there is no such association or section of FICPI.

Eligible non-members wishing to attend the Congress in this capacity will need to be sponsored by a FICPI member.  The non-member and sponsor will need to confirm that he/she:

  • works in private practice in an individual capacity or through a firm;
  • is specialised in IP matters and has the right to represent an applicant before the authority responsible for granting IP rights in his/her country; and
  • devotes the majority of his/her working time to IP matters (excluding ‘pure’ copyright).

Should the above criteria be met, the non-member should obtain an attendance approval code by completing the Sponsored Registrant Application Form giving his/her name and address together with the name and country of admission of his/her sponsoring member.  Both the non-member and sponsor should sign the form and the non-member should indicate his/her relationship with the sponsor.

The Sponsored Registrant Application Form should then be emailed to melbournecongress@ficpi.org or faxed to +44 20 7776 7301 for an approval code to be issued.

On receipt of the code, the non-member should complete the Congress Registration Form and include the name of his/her sponsor and the approval code.

Granting of the approval code will not be a guarantee that the non-member is eligible for membership of FICPI.  Non-members wishing to apply for FICPI membership should do so through the normal channels.  Membership is essential for those wishing to secure entitlement to the lower Congress Delegate registration rates.

Those wishing to join FICPI should go to the Why Join FICPI page at www.ficpi.org and then press the How To Join tab.

Non-members who register for the Congress will not be entitled to attend the General Assembly of FICPI members on Tuesday 17 April 2012.
